The Meaning Behind Our Name
Granite is a proud nod to our home state, the Granite State, symbolizing strength, stability, and endurance.
Ginkgo is a reflection of personal meaning and timeless symbolism. For our founder, Daniel, the ginkgo tree holds deep significance—it was the first tree his family planted in New Hampshire. Today, three ginkgo trees stand in his front yard, one for each of his children.
Why the Ginkgo Tree Inspires Us
The ginkgo tree reminds us of resilience, beauty, and the wisdom that comes with time. As one of the oldest tree species on Earth, its lineage reaches back nearly 300 million years, weathering ice ages, continental drift, and extinctions.
In autumn, its emblematic fan-shaped green leaves turn a clear, luminous gold—distinct among fall yellows for their purity and evenness—and then, after holding fast through the deepening days of autumn, those unmistakable leaves release together in an orchestrated cascade, covering the earth in gold. The ginkgo endures as a living emblem of perseverance and renewal.
